Happy Fall day !

What a beautiful and sunny October day! Brad came home from work early and we took Nolan for a walk and enjoyed watching him run around . We took some cute pictures ,posted below. When the  kids got home from school they were all excited about dressing up and walking around the neighborhood to get  candy .
We don't celebrate Halloween as a scary holiday, nor do we decorate our house in a Halloween theme. We discussed that with our children and explained to them why, but we do let them to dress up in their non evil costumes for some family fun.

After we took some pictures of the kids we walked around the neighborhood before  Brad  took Parker and Josie to church. It was  Wednesday night and the kids had Awana, and Brad had his "the end of times" class which he loves. I stayed at home with Nolan and we played a little, it was so fun because he was giggling, running around, and hiding... He loves to play peak-a-boo with mommy.

This picture was taken  last fall Nolan (1 month old), Josie (7), Parker (9)

And these are from today.

Nolan had 2 costumes this year ( pumpkin for the afternoon pictures and dinosaur at night)

feels like Christmas!

It was so cold outside today 38 F. It  even snowed for a while but melted right away.
Couple of weeks ago I ordered  Sorel boots for myself (as an early birthday gift). So they arrived today :)
just in time for a cold weather. Isn't exciting to hear a Fedex truck when you are expecting a mail? I am always super excited like a kid !
I ordered them on zully.com and got a great deal ! I also ordered a pair of Sorel snow boots for my older son.
I hope you  all are enjoying your week. Stay warm ;)

Wednesday project

Hello everyone,

Today I made this " Family rules " board project. I saw this idea on ourhappilyeverafters blog and wanted to make one too! I didn't do it on canvas because I didn't want to paint it, so I decided to make it on a watercolor paper and to frame it . I originally bought this frame for one of my oil painting portraits but it didn't look right so I used it for this project.

So here it is:

I hope you have a wonderful week!

A week ago Nolan received his birthday gift from my friend Dasha and her husband that live in Ukraine. I was so excited to open it (so was he:) . Dasha is making these beautiful handmade wooden and plastic letters . You can see all her work here: http://bukva8house.blog.com, so she made one letter "N" for Nolan (so sweet and thoughtful) .Thank you Dasha! There was also a cd of an orchestra worship music from my home church in Ukraine that Dasha's husband directing. It's there first cd, and I am so proud of them. He is so passinate in his service for God and doing a great job as a condactor!

When I was listening to the music and singing in russian some of the songs that I know Nolan started to dance. It was so cute to see him dancing and glorifying God with me!

I love you and miss you guys!

Nolan likes to vacuum

Nolan always liked the vacuum cleaner sound , but now he is able to vacuum himself  :) We can't believe how fast he is growing and learning. He just turned 1 year old last week...and every day he shows us something interesting. Sometimes I feel like he is a 2-3 year old toddler. Time goes way too fast.
Here is a video of him vacuuming:

First weekend of October

The weather changed a lot  during the last couple of days. Its been really cold and windy. Every fall we usually go up north to Duluth to enjoy  some colors and beautiful time, but this fall we decided to stay home. I love the fall season but this year it went too fast, and I feel like we didn't get to see that many colors of the leaves.  We had a really warm September, but October brought some real cold. ( I think I even heard a Christmas song on the radio while driving in the car).
Today we went to Church, then had some family brunch at home before we went for a walk outside.
Here are some of our weekend pictures:

Nolan's first birthday party!

Yesterday we celebrated Nolan's 1st birthday with friends and family! It was a beautiful weather just like on the day when he was born....sunny with blue sky and a fresh air. The theme for the party was "little prince" . There was a big chocolate passersby  cake for the guests and a smash cake "car" just like his favorite toy with a poppy on top.  Nolan has a dairy products allergy, and Jan did a wonderful job to make his cake without dairies and kept it as healthy as possible. We also had a red velvet cupcakes that my husband made and lots of goodies :)  (you can see it all on pictures below)

All of the birthday decor I did myself and I was pretty happy how it all looked when we put it all up.

Thank you all for a thoughtful gifts and for celebrating this special day with us!

xoxo
